Over our long history in this field, we have led in experimenting with new approaches to empower our staff, factories and workers to protect workers’ rights and to achieve sustained compliance with labor standards.

While factory assessments remain central to our program, they are part of a multifaceted approach that addresses the root causes of noncompliance at the factory, as well as core issues within the larger context of the industry, country, community and the relevant government levels which contribute to factory noncompliance. In this section, we will discuss the initial steps we have taken to change our approach to sustainable compliance to address root causes of poor working conditions.
