HUMAN RIGHTS TEAM
Human rights professionals at our headquarters are dedicated to:

  • Protecting workers
  • Improving workplace conditions
  • Determining our strategy
  • Coordinating the monitoring program
  • Establishing priorities and providing technical support for factory monitoring
  • Providing an in-house source of expertise with up-to-date information on compliance
  • Maintaining ties to the US and global human rights and labor rights community
  • Offering technical support on health and safety
  • Acting as liaisons with Reebok’s manufacturing and sourcing managers
  • Communicating information to consumers and external stakeholders

Our field staff are a group of committed and trained professionals who help factory managers understand the Reebok Standards and how to best implement them. Most of our field staff come from the region or country they oversee. We feel that it is critical to be attuned to the culture and customs of the region in order to gain the trust of workers. While their experiences are diverse, they all share a common purpose of improving the lives of workers. Ultimately, they are the eyes and ears of our program. They spend their days:

  • Visiting factories
  • Conducting factory inspections
  • Uncovering problems
  • Talking with workers
  • Negotiating with factory management
  • Documenting violations
  • Working with our partners to find short-term and long-term solutions to problems

Our human rights field staff are located in regions which produce a high percentage of Reebok goods and where the risk of noncompliance is high.
