Reebok's Toning Technology
Reebok's proprietary toning technology is based on the benefits of Instability Training that have been proven over time to tone your muscles. Reebok uses unique balance pods built into the shoe that provide natural instability with every step, which forces muscles to adapt and work harder. This results in improvements in muscle tone when tested in the lab and great reviews from women around the world who have worn them!
Wear testing: Reebok has wear-tested EasyTone with hundreds of people over the past two years. Feedback from this research states that users notice the difference immediately and genuinely feel that the shoes work and that their muscles are working harder. Quantitative Data: Reebok sent EasyTone to the University of Delaware in September 2008 for independent testing and based on these tests, where EasyTone footwear was compared to a typical foam based walking shoe, EasyTone footwear with balance ball inspired technology generated 28% more gluteus maximus muscle activation, 11% more hamstring activation, and 11% more calf activation.
  • The 28-11-11 claim is based on results from Electromyography (EMG) testing done by the University of Delaware on "Lower-extremity muscle activation".
  • Electromyography (EMG) involves sensory electrodes being attached to key muscles. These sensors measure the levels of muscle activation as a woman walks.
  • By comparing the changes in muscle activation between different types of shoes, you can determine which shoes are working the muscles hardest.
