Canton, MA (November 12, 2003) - On November 21st, Reebok and multi-platinum artist Jay-Z launch the highly anticipated new black colorway of the "S.Carter Collection by Rbk." Jay-Z is formally known as Shawn Carter and Rbk is Reebok's collection of street-inspired gear. The first athletic footwear line designed for a music artist, the collection will be available in black with green/red for men and children and black with pink for women. The "S. Carter Collection by Rbk" black shoe will be unveiled in limited quantity on www.reebok.com, at Foot Locker and Champs Sports stores nation-wide, and in select athletic specialty stores internationally, for a suggested retail price of $100 for men and women. Children's prices will range from $75 for grade school sizes, $50 for pre- school sizes, $35 for toddler sizes, and $25 for crib sizes.
The new black colorway of the "S. Carter Collection by Rbk" launches one week after Jay Z's "Black" album launch on November 14th.
"The debut of our black shoe should be the most exciting S. Carter launch yet," said Todd Krinsky, Reebok's vice president of Rbk. "It's the perfect color for winter, and the design captures the clean, sleek trend that is so hot with today's young consumer, while still popping in color with its green outsole and green/red laces."
On April 18, 2003, Reebok and Jay-Z introduced the "S.Carter Collection by Rbk" to the world in a strong white/green colorway. This global debut resulted in one of Reebok's most successful launches. The collection is also available in all-white, white/blue/red, white/carolina blue, and tan colorways for men, and in white/yellow, and white/carolina blue colorways for women.
