How to Stay Fit While Binge Watching 'Gilmore Girls'
It’s been years in the making, but everyone’s favorite mother-daughter duo is finally back on television.
Thanks to Netflix, fans of “Gilmore Girls” are being treated to four new 90-minute episodes of the show—that’s six hours of answering all our burning questions on what Lorelai and Rory Gilmore have been up to since the series’ finale in 2007.
Thankfully fans no longer need to wait a week between episodes (rejoice!). All four are being released at once.
“Sure, it can be fun sometimes to veg out in front of the TV but too much vegging and not enough moving can sometimes wreak havoc on our waistline,” says Reebok trainer Jamie Eason, who programmed the workout and is a big “Gilmore Girls” fan.
While too many hours sitting on the couch can lead one to be sedentary, Eason has created a binge workout (think: drinking game plus fitness) to keep you moving and active while watching.
“Since exercise should be fun,” she says, "what could be more fun than letting your favorite characters dictate your workout to get you moving?”
For Eason, who has become a mother of two, the show nows holds new importance.
“When I first watched it [Gilmore Girls] years ago I could identify with Rory and always loved the special mother-daughter relationship that she had with her mom, Lorelai. I also loved that she was smart and a good kid. It was a positive thing to see on TV. Now that it's been nearly 16 years since the first episode aired, I'm excited to watch it again to see how I identify with Lorelai,” says Eason.
So cue up Netflix, clear some space, and prepare to return to Stars Hollow.
