Reese Scott is Making History for Women in Boxing

Reese Scott is making history by opening Women’s World of Boxing, the first women’s boxing gym in New York City. When Scott fell in love with boxing 14 years ago, she was one of only two women training in the entire club, and she didn’t exactly feel welcome.

“I don’t want other women to have to fight, like I had to fight, for my place,” says Scott. “I want them to walk in and feel respected and that they’re going to get the proper training.”

Refusing to be complacent and always pushing for more, Scott empowers women she trains to take control of their lives and find their inner strength in what’s been known to be a male-dominated sport.

“Everything I learn in the gym, I apply to my life outside the gym,” she says.

From national television appearances to inspiring interviews with global media outlets discussing the importance of training for women, Scott continues to promote her mission and is dedicated to creating a blod community of women who leave her gym feeling stronger than when they walked in.

“Now is the time that we all really need to connect and come together and say you know what, what about us now?”
