Why do you teach/train?
I felt so empowered when I started to train, and developed so much self confidence that my passion is to open that possibility up for others the way my coaches opened that up for me!
What classes do you normally teach / what is your training expertise?
I’ve taught everything from TRX, to Pilates, to CrossFit. Now I teach Functional Fitness in a group model, and I actually specialize in nutrition for performance and life.
How have you adapted your business to still inspire people at home?
I have been really fortunate to be part of the NCFIT Team during this time- we are hosting live workouts on Facebook for our community!
Are you currently offering virtual classes? If so, when and how can people join?
Currently I am not offering virtual classes, however I am always offering Nutrition information and guidance via social media!
What advice would you give to other fitness professionals to get through these times?
We can’t be afraid to market or sell our services. We have the solution to a big problem, and that is the current state of health. We are providing a service that people need, and it would be a disservice for us not to be screaming that from the rooftops!
How can fitness professionals lift each other up right now?
This is a time where we all can be working together to bring fitness, nutrition, and health to our communities. Yes we are socially isolating, but we are more connected than ever.
What is your favorite non-fitness outlet to cope with the current stress of the world?
I love to disconnect and go on walks with my dog, Mila. Disconnecting from social media helps me connect with the world around me, and it lights up my day to see the weird and funny things she does when she thinks you aren’t looking!
How are you giving yourself #permissiontopause?
It can be really easy to feel like we “should” be doing more … all the time. Whenever I feel like I am getting overwhelmed, or I’m comparing myself to another coach on social media, I take a step back and breathe, then I go for a walk!
